Howard is first -- in Albuquerque as in Chicago and Vermont.
As expected, I didn't have time t,o post at the con. I learned quite a lot. Most, Bui not all, about how those higher up the con hierarchy think rather than things I can directly apply. Still useful.
My friend brought me back to the station late yesterday afternoon. Ran into unexpected traffic (Sunday afternoon?). Got there just as they were announcing the train boarding, but that was 45 minutes before it left, so no sweat.
Some interesting mesas between Gallup and Albuquerque. Not as high as those you typically see in pictures -- maybe 50 to 100 feet. The train went right past the base of one, which was interesting.
Listener -- thank your friend for me. I agree with puddle about the name 'rubber rabbitbush. Why do they have rubber rabbitbush in the southwest? I don't know. Maybe they have rubber rabbits?
I don't think I ever answered the question about putting up a Christmas tree. We haven't since Marc was in his terns. We're really not big on holidays at all.
And I must say that I think it would be a mistake for t he library trustees to cancel the extra vacation for those who have been promised it. Not offering it to new hires is different, although that has its own drawbacks.

Bill, it sounds like you got to the train at JUST the right moment! Well done!
DeleteDefinitely rubber rabbits….who apparently like bushes.
I'm always so interested in folks' traditions….even the tradition of not having much of a tradition.
Staff meeting revealed that the vacation pay being dropped may have been misinformation. I will probably hear more about that tomorrow.
Evidently it's the brush that has rubber in it. Good to keep track of alternative sources of rubber. But I *like* the rubber rabbit thang, lol!
