Deck the Halls!

  1. Dean the Halls!

    I enjoyed the last thread!

To see what my Thursday was like, go to the last thread and click on the link I posted. Add to that I was baking cookies for the family gathering and they wouldn't cook right. Turned out we needed to reset the breaker in the basement before the oven would work! Wild!

    2. You mean the Facebook link? Unfortunately, Facebook is a members-only site.

  2. President Howard would have been a dandy Xmas present... if anyone could manage to avoid being controlled by the office, I think it would have been him.

No rain here yet, although the news media seem to be stoking hysteria about some rain in the San Francisco Bay area. Where I grew up, four inches in five days would hardly have been considered a heavy mist.

  3. A weather forecast said parts of California would be getting about the same amount of precipitation as Vermont, just liquid.

  4. It seems we have had a light, steady rain since a little before I went to bed last night.

  5. Biting my nails. I finally got my "Silver" (twenty-fifth) quiz submitted late Wednesday evening and must now wait for the editors to approve it. This is a more than usually nerve racking process as I can't submit "Fantastic Mr. Fox," the quiz in the For Children category for my current stage in Adventures in Authoring until "Silver" goes up. (Only one quiz can be in the editors' hands at a time.) And I can't advance to see what my next task is in Adventures in Authoring till the For Children quiz goes up. And my third and last fractured Engelbert song titles quiz needs to go up, and... ARG!

  6. Every once in a while, I'll come across an old quiz (one with multiple answers on a page) and boy do I like them! I hardly have the patience for the one question/reload the page quizzes. Pity.

But I'm pretty much gathering that no one even imagines dialup any more. I figure I have a couple of useful years left before speed so out paces my modem that I won't even bother to get on line any more. Back to the library!
