That's quite some weather station, listener. As for our (artificial) Christmas tree, nowadays we put it up pretty close to Christmas, depending on my work schedule and when Naomi is coming. This year we will probably put it up the weekend before Christmas, which weekend I have off. At Salt Mine No.. 1 (that's intended to be humorous), this year we get Boxing Day off in lieu of Veterans' Day. The following two days I work at Salt Mine No. 2. Not bad at all.
My trip to San Diego Monday is off--the defendant accepted a plea bargain, which sounds reasonable. If it had gone to trial, it could have gone either way as far as I can see. It seems I made a good impression and they felt I was helpful. That's nice.
Well, off to bed now. Have to call out a plumber tomorrow morning, and dig up a cleanout. Very slow drain. First such trouble we have had here in about twenty years; at out previous house it was several times per year.
More than Liquid Plumber was needed, listener. The plumbers discovered that tree roots had infiltrated the septic tank, growing up and blocking the inlet pipe. They could remove the roots from the pipe and recommended a foaming root killer to deal with those in the tank itself. The pipes are in good condition and the septic tank (as I expected but was relieved to learn) did not need to be pumped out. Great service--same day for everything. They had a camera setup like a super heavy duty colonoscope to inspect everything from the inside, and a device for locating the camera from above ground that looked (and sounded) like a comic strip ray gun.
Very nice weather here today. We saw a huge flock of sea gulls take off from the river below in the late afternoon; there must have been at least a thousand of them.
"Her triumphs and setbacks are laid bare in the oral histories of Mr. Clinton’s presidency, released last month by the Miller Center at the University of Virginia. The center has conducted oral histories of every presidency going back to Jimmy Carter’s, interviewing key players and then sealing them for years to come. But more than any other, this set of interviews bears on the future as much as the past."
All those sainted good folks are First, like Howard Dean and Nicholas of Myra.
