Tomorrow is Election Day and I again will be serving as an election official, as I have each year since the days of the Dean Campaign. Today, though, I did something I haven't done before. I helped set up the polling place! :-) I helped lay carpet atop the gymnasium floor, to protect it. Then I helped set up the booths. Lastly, I helped tape new Information and Voting Rights papers in each booth. It was a "many hands make light work" event and very cheerful.
I hear you, puddle. I get almost superstitious when I count the vote. I counted the vote here and went home believing that Bush had been defeated, only to arrive home and learn that he had "won."
Penny has left for work again. A 9-hour shift. The coworker who would normally be taking this shift has an infection in both eyes. He thinks/hopes he will be able to work tomorrow night. We'll see. But the guy in Puerto Rico will be back at work Monday, so things will eventually get back to normal.
No one has yet noticed that Howard Dean is first? And will be tomorrow, too!

ReplyDeleteToday was bright blue and warmish. Tomorrow, warmer and maybe a bit less blue. I'll be voting, but my heart is hurting over this election.
