I haven't looked at the temperature today, but the teens sound about right.
Demetrius got the last of the spring bulbs in on Sunday, just in time for the snow to fall that evening. Fall is officially over--winter is here with a vengeance.
Yesterday I was at orientation for seasonal work at Target, and I had to sign and date a lot of stuff. All day I kept thinking, "I know today must be SOMEBODY'S birthday. Finally when I got home, I realized it was Howard's. Mystery solved.
Son found an apartment he likes, and is supposed to be moving in there in the first part of December. I should find out the exact date and make myself a modified Advent calendar with which to count down. The young man just oozes attitude. Also, it will be easier for me to rally for a canine brother or sister for Perkins once the Resident Dog Hater moves out of the house.
Speaking of Advent, apparently the 7 week Advent is a "thing" now. I guess that works for me this year, because I'm working retail now and thus surrounded by Christmas stuff for the next couple months.
Actually, I knew yesterday was Howard's birthday because he sent me an e-mail announcing that fact and asking me to make a contribution to DFA in honor of that event. Which I did.
I'm getting the impression others didn't receive that e-mail. Guess I'm special?
I asked to be taken off their list long ago, after the last of the folks who were there during the campaign had all moved on. They stopped caring about the Blog. That isn't theory; I volunteered at HQ, even years after the campaign ended. I saw the slide.
I never found the blog something I could participate in. For me, DFA was the meetups. Most of those perished of natural causes -- for the one I was active in, because 80+% of the regulars got too involved in the Obama campaign to show up. But I think there's one still going on Chicago's north side.
My closest meetup was in Harrisonburg. Four students with only one at a time attending. In this county, me and one other. I did write and mail more than 650 letters for Howard.
Howard's first on the 13ยบ afternoon.
ReplyDeleteBRRR!!!
DeleteWe have our love for Howard to keep us warm though, right?

♥Renee First chick leaving the nest, eh?
DeleteWell, Daughter's been far away at college since late August. By comparison, Son's new nest will be in an adjoining tree.

DeleteI got it Bill. I just won't contribute to DFA since they killed the blog.
