Temps in upper 20s mid-morning, but snow was melting by the time I left for my book discussion. Been so busy with work I only managed to get through 90% of the book -- David Brin's Existence. Reaction from the group was a bit better than lukewarm. One member said she was glad she'd read it for the ideas but wouldn't reread for enjoyment.
Howard's Mom is also First! I made a card for her which has a photo of DEAN buttons on front and inside a photo of Howard with me last Summer at the Reunion. I'll be sending it with a note about how inspired I've been by my former Governor, along with a box of chocolates from Snowflake Chocolates. If she's not allowed sweets, she can use them to thank the nurses. :-)
We had 20's today too, but are expecting 40's on Tuesday! My first time change day started much too early when Grand woke me. I thought the time would look better than usual, but she woke me at 7:32am, which was 6:32am the old time!! Argh! Long day, but it will soon be behind me!
A bit cooler today, but steady melt continues. So far, nothing looking like a flood. Some really warm days in the forecast, and yay!
Squished my first sleepy wasp of the season, and was laughing at a bright sparkly black spider cavorting across my desk and back and up and down: clearly *she* has spring fever. . . .
Cat--The Bookman's Tale DOES sound interesting! I see from alibris.com that the same title has been used by several authors.
On the way home this (Sunday) afternoon I saw that the grapevines are starting to leaf out, strawberries are being harvested (it's too early for them to really be sweet), and I saw a flock of ibis--maybe two or three hundred! In the place I always see them, a pasture at the nice-looking dairy ranch, in a marshy section of pasture near the road. There were a lot of crows also congregating there today.
Well, my mind is murkier than usual on account of working the weekend, so I will take care of a little e-correspondence and then hit the sack.
Howard IS most first!
