If I can get a certain client to pay up, I will order a nice grandfather clock such as Miyoko has been wanting for decades. If not, well, we will have to wait.
"Work, the curse of the drinking class..." Alan, you always give me a smile. That expression sounds vaguely familiar, though I can't recall where I might have come across it.

Gonna get my hair cut tomorrow. I'm slightly apprehensive, since this hair dresser, a friend of Patty's, once gave me the worst perm of my life. I'm hoping she will do better with a simple bob. I also hope she and Patty don't hector me, trying to get me to agree to something mod. I want the simplest of simple bobs. But beauticians are never happy with simple, and Patty enjoys bossing me around. However,all in all I'm looking forward to the excursion.

Up to now I have always been overlooked in news stories about cases in which I have testified, but my luck might run out this Monday. I will be testifying in a police excessive force case that is getting a lot of attention in the local newspaper--but so far it seems not to have been picked up by the wire services, which surprises me a bit. Well, there are things to be said for being below the radar.
Work was insanely busy this past week--I could get some work done this evening, but will relax, go to bed at a reasonable hour, not set the alarm, and work tomorrow. In my pajamas and bathrobe, so there! Attorney conference and company holiday party on Sunday. Now a short documentary, and some more of The Left Hand of Darkness. (The protagonists are presently trying to work their way up onto the ice cap.)
