Cat--thanks for the profer, but the weather in Ontario SHOULD be just fine in October….
Yesterday we worked through the list of things we particularly wanted to do on our vacation and the time we had available. Quebec City is out, but we have some slack here and there in our schedule, with a little extra time in Montreal. Between last night and today I rounded up all the reservations for lodging that we will need (final one just now, a little after 9PM our time). Found some really nice looking bed and breakfasts; the only conventional hotel on the list is the one at the airport the evening of our arrival. (I am disinclined to try finding my way around a strange metropolis after dark, so an airport hotel it is.) Now to flesh out the itinerary (that's a job of 2-3 days in odd moments, I suppose).
Yesterday we saw a fledgling dove on the ground in our front yard; it seemed not to know how to get into the air, and its parents were watching from the roof. We were worried a cat might get it, but today all three of them took off from the garden and flew to the roof when I went outside.
We got just about everything on our to-do list for the weekend accomplished; only thing left over is to inspect and repair as needed the sprinklers. I haven't done a good job of that for some years (since before my medical adventures), and it needs to be done. We got a bunch of pictures hung, among other things.
A storm front came through today, and they say it might rain tomorrow (Tuesday); but I doubt it will. Mackerel sky, but no mare's tails.
Miyoko wanted to visit a you-pick cherry orchard up in the hills since our cherry crop failed; but it seems theirs did too. It must have been because of the abnormal Spring weather.
I should add that among the things we accomplished over the weekend was hosting a guest and participating in a potluck. Best (coolest) weather for that potluck in years and years.
Howard'd be first this fine winter evening, lol!
