I'm doing my "Renee was right" dance--on the inside. No point in rubbing it in. But I knew Stevie would enjoy having a new kitty friend, and D just kept saying, "You don't KNOW that!" Yes, I did.
Some stuff, I just know. It's intuition, so it won't stand up to scientific rigor. But that doesn't change the fact that I know it---and I was right!
DAY SIX: Laryngitis today. My throat still looks scary though it mostly no longer hurts. It's just dry now and I still have a sinus thing going on. I'm kind of thinking of resigning. Ha!
Resigning from getting anything accomplished I guess. Kind of a "Where do I go to resign?" sentiment. I'd like to sign up for wellness instead of illness. A week of it is more than I am up to. Bleah.
Mostly it's getting pretty frustrating not being able to communicate very well verbally. My poor granddaughter kept asking questions (she's 5) and when I would rasp my response, she'd say, "What?" Argh!! I've been mostly trying not to talk so my voice has a chance of returning. There's a light burning sensation in my throat and I'm just plain annoyed. Off to sleep, as I have a staff meeting tomorrow morning (and missed last month's due to illness). At least I'm getting some of the baby quilt made!
Back from Capricon. Busy, busy, busy. Almost every minute I wasn't sleeping I was either sitting at a table promoting the Phoenix NASFiC bid, throwing a party promoting the Phoenix NASFiC bid, or on a Capricon panel. But I got to talk to a lot of people, so that's good. Nobody I know really expects to get enough sleep at a science fiction convention, so it's no wonder I'm beat. But caught up with everything but thing but the snail mail that came in while I was gone, so a good nights sleep and I should be ready to get back to work tomorrow.
Well, Renee, you obviously knew because you are tuned in to the all-pervasive plenum from which we and all other things, sentient and otherwise, arise. That of course is the basis of mysticism--the epistemological proposition that we are capable of direct (i.e. without need of any intermediary), full, valid knowledge. So there!
Welcome back, Bill!
listener--natural stimulation of one's immune system can certainly be a drag; here's to a speedy recovery for you. It seems the influenza has largely run its course out here (we got it a while after the eastern states).
Dean remains first, wherever he is these days.
ReplyDeleteWarmish, gray with a bit of sun, bit of wind. It'll do.

ReplyDeletelistener, glad you are *feeling* better if not sounding better. Resigning from what/who/where?
