Eldest*Grand turns SIX today!

Well, I can't take credit for this photo.  It was taken by her maternal Grampa.  :-)

    1. Really? I knew the search had been resumed. Wouldn't it be something if they finally found the plane and with it some answers?

    2. I have a very hard time believing that after WWII there are no other airplanes missing in the Pacific! Would be GREAT if this turned out to be it, though.

  3. Thanks for the support in the previous thread. I'm pretty shell-shocked/at loose ends. The theory was that I was going to take Perkins out for some exercise. So far I still lack energy and motivation. Plus all that grocery shopping I didn't do yesterday still needs to be done.

I'd much rather just go back to bed.

  6. Alan ~ Such sweet Firsties! Thanks! :-)

Renee ~ =Hug= We watch the first half of The Sound of Music tonight.
"When the Lord closes a door, somewhere he opens a window."
I don't know quite what happens when the world closes a door. But I do know your journey continues and that anything can happen around the next bend. Hoping for you (incase hoping for yourself is a little hard right now). ♥

  8. BTW, waited all evening and never heard how the Dem Caucus turned out tonight. So I don't yet know if I'm on the ballot or not. Ha!

  9. listener, if it should be good for you to know, you will be told. [grin]

Renee, at one point some years back, I was in a real hard spot job-wise. The Chemistry Department in the local state college decided they were going to start a forensic toxicology program, and posted an opening. Well, the job would have some public respect, and it was almost next door. As it happened, I was the only applicant who met the given qualifications. But what the professors wanted was not what they said; they wanted someone who would fit into the lowest rung of their clique, not someone with experience, maturity and self-confidence. So they withdrew the job posting and rewrote it to get the sort of person they really wanted, practical experience and ability be damned. They did, and I heard from a person who started the program that it was not only very poor quality but disintegrating. I don't even know if they are still pretending to offer it. It wasn't long before a far more satisfactory job opened up for me, that I still have. And I think the Chemistry Department is having to absorb more and more cuts.

And I recall a friend of mine who got himself into one tight spot after another, business-wise; just as everything was closing in on him, he would slip out of the scrum and survive. He seemed honestly to believe that God would provide, and darned if He didn't seem to! The fellow did very well with a chain of cookie shops.

Looking back at end of previous thread… …. …. No need to apologize for the "rant," Cat. Although Romney did seem to eventually get it right, it took him a day, I notice.

My left leg has been giving me hob the better part of a week now, but is getting better with massage treatments (administered variously by machine, myself, and my sweetie). Aching pretty bad due to tightened muscles, but fortunately it doesn't affect my walking. Past two nights I woke up very early because of the discomfort; tonight I will take a Norco (Vicodin plus Tylenol) pill of the many I had left over from my medical adventures. Kind of an extreme thing for me to do, but I need to be able to sleep.

    TTFN
