  2. As for "Our Like a Lamb"...maybe!
When I set this to post it was over 80F here. LOL!
Here's hoping puddle doesn't get inundated with rain, and I don't get inundated with snow.
And here's hoping Cat comes back around soon!

  3. Hmmm…..think I'll give this search engine a try:

    http://idealab.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/03/duckduckgo-taking-on-google-with-new-search-features.php?ref=fpnewsfeed

Yes, the search results ARE more straightforward than Google has become. No sign of tracking or massaging results to match previous searches.

Re weather, the prediction is for 80% chance of rain tomorrow, and 60% tomorrow night. But today was clear and nice, and right now (almost 11:00 PM) it remains warm, calm, and clear. The prediction seems hard to believe, but they are so much more reliable now than when I was young…

  4. Da Boi slept in until a decent post seven moment, so I'm good to go. The lady bunting back again this morning trying to get in my front window.

Alan, thanks for the duckduck link. Wonder if it can replace google as a verb? Think I'll go duckduck that. . . . Or, I duckducked that, and . . . . Things to remember when making a name for oneself, eh?

  5. Refrigerators finally got past the Frigidaire label; but I'm afraid I still use Dutch Cleanser. . . .

    ReplyDelete
  6. Dutch Cleanser--wow! I can see the label in my mind's eye. I would buy a case of Bet-U-Lol, Huxley's External Anodyne, if I could get it. Even without the marvelous old medicine bottle with the label showing the gold medals won at this exhibition and that. (St. Louis, Paris, etc.)

  7. Thinking again about helpless and hopeless as a way of being -- This is from my Achalasia Board:

    Tips for maintaining energy?
My diet at the moment is pretty much yogurt, soup, Sustagen (like Ensure), gelati/icecream and chocolate. I can feel my energy level dropping and although I...

    My response:
Ensure and Boost are primarily sugar and oil. A bit of whey and a
vitamin. Surely we can do better for ourselves than that, lol! You can
purchase whey at a healthfood store. And butter is better for you than rapeseed
oil (called Canola here). Crockpot. Chicken. Blender. Wonderful what one can
do just starting there. And I'll bet the vitamins they use are nothing like top
of the line. . . Add onions, garlic, other veggies, and whey. Much better for
you, and tastes better, too, lol! Your body *needs* protein. I wish I'd
realized what was happening to me before my hair started to fall out. But by
the time I noticed, and got my blender out, it was pretty much too late. The
good part is that I'll live. And there was a long time in there where I really
wasn't sure I'd make it. Love and luck, and get to work: it's *your* life.

    Her response:
I will not blend meat or chicken....I can't eat food like that! I only puree fruit and vegetables.

  8. This woman is literally starving to death. (Or maybe exaggerating -- I remember one post that said she could eat pizza before -- and after -- the Heller.)

This is, BTW, the one who's afraid her husband will leave her because she can't travel.

    Contrast that with this guy:

  9. puddle, I guess she's a "yes, but" person. She may not want help, just condolences. Have one of those people in my family. Can't find any sympathy for those who *refuse* to help themselves in any way.

  10. I think that may be the last time I respond. Patience has worn more than thin. But sad.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Yes, it is sad, but I've learned that you design your own life. Wherever you end up, whether you like it or not, you got yourself to that place through your own choices. Now that doesn't mean you can't gripe, but you can't blame anybody else either.

  12. Oh, and I should add, sometimes life throws you a curve but how you react to that is still within your control.

I use Goodsearch because for every search I do it pays 1 cent to (in my case) AAPD. Goodsearch uses the Yahoo search engine.

  16. Nope. She's mightily resentful that she can't barbie with her hubby and friends. . . . But then, she's mightily resentful that she's sick, and fixing it is costing money when she wants to go to Europe, and insurance companies for international travel are reluctant to finance overseas medical care (so you have to wait a while after your last "treatment". . . . ). She's just a little basketful of resentment. Doctors are, yanno, just finding new ways to rob you while not making you well.

  17. Agree, Susan. Absolutely.

  18. Hey, hey, hey!! I just got two complete bottles of 90 softgel SuperDuper Vitamin K2 for about $16! ONE sells for 19.95 plus shipping. And my $16 is WITH the shipping. Happy most camper here!! I *love* eBay!

  19. Well, lol! Small victories. . . . I responded to her ~~

Linsday ~~ It's called Pâté, and has a long and honored place in Western
Cuisine. . . . Hot dogs, sausage, and liverwurst are all Pâtés. As is pâté de
    foie gras; mousse de foie gras (both must contain 50% or more foie gras);
parfait de foie gras. Long and honorable history, indeed.

    From wiki:

Pâté is a mixture of cooked ground meat and fat minced into a spreadable paste.
Common additions include vegetables, herbs, spices, and either wine or cognac,
    armagnac or brandy.

    Up to you.

    xox

And then just held my breath. . . .

    And got:

I love pate...have never thought of blended meat or chicken like that! Lindsay...

Sometimes, perhaps, patience is golden. . . .

  20. Darned if the weatherperson wasn't right; it was a beautiful clear morning here, then a wind came up midday and swept in some clouds, then it rained from about 2:30 to 4:30 PM, cleared up, and it's raining again (almost 9 PM). Quite a surprise.

  22. puddle--I don't remember Bet-U_Lol bottles THAT old…

Bill--I will check out Goodsearch; thanks.

Will do a little more work on the tax returns tonight. TTFN
