  2. Things clouded up here today, and it sprinkled just a bit on the way home; rain rumored for tomorrow and several days thereafter, but it should be relatively light way down here. I do not expect gullywashers.

Interesting speculation here; is Obama defusing the situation? On top of canceling the XL pipeline? Might he do other things to attract the support of his base, what with an election coming up?

  4. What worries me about Obama is this: he campaigns really well, he knows his rep has taken a hit with independents and some of his base (me). But if he gets back in will he do a "Bush"? That is, be even more right-wing in his second term?

I've had it with his trying to build a reputation as a "statesman" by giving in to the Republicans too many times to the detriment of the 99%.

He's not at all my favorite. :(

  7. After his day of intense interest in getting under the porch, the last two days have been beautiful: he's been willing to come in, stay in, and stop pacing. Been blessed, it has.

  10. We got a couple of inches of snow late last night, which pleased Sis, today being her birthday.

She's doing remarkably well, all things considered. Got her apt. for the biopsy...next Wednesday.

  13. Spoke too soon, lol! Started to snow, I didn't catch it before he did: I'd have been tempted to leave him under a while longer, but it's still *only* snowing. . . . I figured a rescue would be a good bit LESS fun once the ice/sleet started. He's in, fed, and asleep now. *sigh*

  16. Hi Ho! My two meetings in NH went well, and we made it to ME just fine.
That's saying a lot, since we took two vehicles...ours and one we'd borrowed.
Just one glitch. Somebody (who wasn't me) left our suitcase at home.
Good thing we go back tomorrow! LOL!
At least my very special pillow came!

Started to snow late morning but stopped now. Looks like we got the 5" - 6" predicted.

  20. Today I learned that my Great Great Great Grandfather, Patrick, was aboard the USS Cumberland when it was sunk, in the battle of Hampton Roads, during the Civil War. He was cook of the mess that day and a gunner. Three-quarters of the gunners were killed in the battle. None of the wounded survived.

Gosh, never knew how lucky I am to be here...!

  23. Very light rain began here about 4PM--first rain in two months. Hills that should be covered in lush green grass are brown. Well, back to "The Pursued."
