  2. Thanks, puddle! It's my delight! :-)

That was from Seal Cove, on retreat, and definitely one of my favourite haunts there.
I saw at least one Bald Eagle there, maybe two.

  3. Had Granddaughter here last night until just about 11pm, then opened the Library this morning. Didn't sleep great owing to my cold. Got home and did some yard work.
Now, as Cat would say, I'm going to go have a lie down!

  4. Hi guys.

Didn't look at the clock when I got up today, but it must have been about noon. The snow was just starting and Mum dismissively asserted that it wouldn't amount to anything. It's now 5:30 and the ground is white and every branch and bough I can see is laden and bowed. Indeed, Dad told me he had heard they were expecting downed branches and power lines. He also said the storm was all along the Appalachians from Virginia to Maine. Surprised neither of you mentioned it. But maybe Vermont at least will be spared. Heaven knows it doesn't need an early snowstorm on top of the flooding. I hope it misses WV too. Looks like a deusy!

  5. Lol! *Did* mention it yesterday. When it started. Phone lines were hinky this morning, and before I managed to get online (tried for TWO hours) the electric went out, and *just* came back on, which makes it a record for outages at this place.

Snow was/is gorgeous, and heavy. And it's been like bombardment all day as great clumps fall off the trees over the house onto the roof. Beau loved it, and stayed out almost two hours in freezing weather. And then came in and settled down to being a house dog. Not cranky about it at all.

  6. Been out now for an hour. Bare feet on freezing ground. And doesn't want to come back in. Guess I could haul him in, lol!

  7. Miyoko just called me to see the snow in DC--it made the Japanese TV news. Hmmmm.... isn't a white Halloween kind of unusual?

  8. I white Halloween in DC is certainly unusual. Don't really know if it would be in, let's say, Duluth. But this storm didn't hit Duluth.

  9. A white Hallowe'en isn't unheard of here, but we got NONE of the snow this time.

Southern Vermont, however, will be getting up to a foot or so. And you're right, Cat; they do not need this.

I hear Peru, MA to your west got 27" of snow!
