Most of our leaves are already down (same cause as puddle). In our town we rake them to the curb and this big vacuum truck comes around and sucks them up. In the spring they give away free compost. Truck came yesterday, several days early. Fortunately I'd had a burst of energy a few days ago and with my sister and BIL had most of them at the curb and ready to be sucked up.
Wish I could kick a few politicians to the curb to be sucked up. :(
Off to sew a long duster coat for Grandson. He's going as a Zombie Hunter. We've already found all the other parts, but couldn't find a long coat. Luckily I found a pattern for one in his size and got the fabric on sale. But still, I have to get it sewn and splattered with "blood" (red fabric dye).
Son #1 called Tuesday and asked me to babysit for both kids alllll daaaay Saturday and Sunday, about 12 hours each. I'm lining up projects to intersperse throughout the days to make it go a little faster. Got tips already for "mummy hot-dogs" and "ghost string cheese" for their lunches. I sure do love the internet. It makes many things possible and those that were already possible much easier.
I admire your willingness to create gore for your grands. So far ours are more interested in fairy costumes and such, to my relief. Eldest (age 5) is going as Odette (the white swan in Sawn Lake!), Littlest (2) is going as a Cygnet. ;-) I haven't yet heard what Middle (4) has chosen, but Annie Oakley would suit her perfectly. LOL!
Middle is coming over Friday night and we're going to have some pumpkin fun. :-) I looove being Grammie!!! :)
Howard Dean is First.
ReplyDeleteAnd today's my big brother's 61st Birthday.
Happy birthday to listener's BB!!
ReplyDeleteBleak here. All the leaves are gone (too many days of wind/rain) and the sky's a dull gray. It's about fifty, but looks cold as hell. . . .
The prednisone seems to be helping Stevie, a bit. I'll take any bit I can.

Well, composted politicians would probably not be organic anyway.
ReplyDeleteMost areas of Vermont have a lot of bare trees now, too, but we also still have LOTS of leaves
ReplyDelete...and some are even still green...!

Okay, off to sew. Love ya, mean it.
Here, too, the state of the trees varies widely by species: a few green, many yellow, some bare.
ReplyDeleteAnd here, too, today is bleak, gray, and in the 50s, whth occasional sprinkles.
Right Backatcha, Susan! ♥

Well, I got the coat done and "bloody". Not my best sewing job ever, but hopefully it will do for the one night of Trick or Treat.
