His health is getting pretty precarious. He can't move here, which was the dream. The problem is neither can I move there: his kids are fiercely protective of their mother, and he believes he's dependent on them for his care. He's afraid to introduce me into the matrix. It's going nowhere, and I can't make it move. I'm not willing to just sit here and watch him die at a distance.
If it would help to have something else to think about, I could use your help. If not, if you'd rather be left alone, please just say so.
Here's the problem. I've decided to look for an old flame, an Englishman I knew years before meeting Phil. The thing is, there are apparently about six zillion Mike Waltons on FB. Obviously, photographs don't help. Anyway, it was almost thirty years ago.. He'd be in his mid fifties now, and even with 20/20 vision I might not recognize him.
Tried putting in Mike Walton, England and Mike Walton, West Drayton (He was an air traffic controler at West Drayton when I knew him, so that's what I tried). Neither one of these attempts bore fruit. So, my question is, do you know any way to refine a search on FB? Or am I just gonna have to go through all siz zillion results?
At least I know he's surrounded by people who love him, even if I can't be one of them.
Ohhhh, that's sad, puddle. He'll be the poorer for it. Any chance you can stay in touch as sweet friends, even if it can't go anywhere further? Or do you feel you need to disentangle to open your heart for what's next? I trust your wisdom about this, and I'm here any time you want to talk. In fact, most any Tuesday or Thursday evening after about 8:30pm, I'm here. ♥
Want to know what it's like in Vermont after Irene? Need information on what common household products can clean away mold? Wondering how to get from Killington to Rutland now that the roads are completely washed out? Here is an excellent site to read through. Very helpful and very sobering: http://vprnews.wordpress.com/
Don't miss the part about temporary bus service between Killington and Rutland! The journey begins with a half mile walk through the woods! Interesting way to get to and from work!
On at last. Would probably have checked in mid-afternoon, but a thunderstorm knocked out our local transformer around 2:30. Power was still off when I left for the Disability Pride Parade celebration dinner. It's obviously back on now, and aside from doing a few things that didn't require the computer when I should have been working, no harm done.
The dinner was quite good. Some people were saying it was the best we've ever had, although I wasn't quite that enthusiastic.
We are doing pretty well. It's amazing how integrated into our thinking Emma was. We've both been having moments when we almost call her for some reason, or expect her to come around the corner. And we feel sad, but it's a clean sadness, not a pained sort of thing. I think that's because she lived a good long, happy life and died gently. It helps. Your kindness helps too. ♥ And it helps that we get to play with all three Granddaughters this weekend. :-)
So cute! Howard's way cute, too, as well as first!
ReplyDeletelistener--I see no reason you shouldn't meet up with emma cat when you get to Elysium.
ReplyDeleteNeither do I. =^. .^=
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say here, that Rick and I didn't make it. I'm sad, but I'll survive.

ReplyDeletePuddle? But, but you guys have been together for ages now. What happened? Unless you don't want to talk about it.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry!

ReplyDeleteSince that's what I had to do with Phil, I certainly understand the frustration and pain.
ReplyDeleteSo very sorry♥
Thank you sweetie. I know you know. ♥ At least I know he's surrounded by people who love him, even if I can't be one of them.

As I say, if you're not up to this, just tell me.

ReplyDeleteNo luck, Cat. I tried google first, and no luck there either. Looks like it's going to be slogging through, one by one. . . . Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThanks for trying, Puddle.
ReplyDeleteWelcome! Sorry it wasn't more productive.

ReplyDeleteIt's good to heat that the dinner was good, Bill. It's even better to hear that you have the power again! :-)
