Our heat came on this morning. This is good news--it actually CAME ON ALL BY ITSELF once the air temperature dropped low enough. Usually it is not nearly so automatic. Demetrius usually has to spend a long time "cajoling" it.
I made it there and back again. And the BEST part is that my Peer Group (which I've been attending for 12 years now!!) has decided to move our start time from 9:30am to Noon, so that I can drive down in daylight (instead of after work!) and can go down and back the same day, so I don't have to stay overnight there anymore! Hurrah!!
My first Friends' Meeting here met at 4:30 in the afternoon. Which was a blessing for me. Now they have their own Meeting House, and it's in the morning, which makes it very difficult for me to go. Been years since I have.
puddle...my heart is right there with you as you tend Stevie. I remember that not too long back we were noticing that Emma and Stevie had some similar struggles. Emma was the first to go. =^. .^=
We received her ashes back yesterday. Mah*Sweetie came over to the Library to tell me that instead of the usual white cardboard box they had placed her ashes in a sweet little pine box with her name on it, and a registration tag, so apparently this place does it very nicely. It helps. We plan to have a Rite IV burial service on Sunday morning and bury Emma in the back yard under the Poplar Tree alongside Mittens and Maggie. Each kitty gets her own special stone as a marker. I'm going to chant and we have a special committal verse that we use for the kitties.
We begin with some Remembrances of Emma Then...
Chanted: Into your hands, O God, we commend Emma's spirit.
Spoken: Acknowledge, we humbly beseech you, a sheep of your own fold, lamb of your own flock, a kitty of your own caboodle. Receive Emma into the arms of your mercy, that she may prowl from strength to strength in the glorious company of the Cats in Light. Amen.
Chanted: Into your hands, O God, we commend Emma's spirit.
Howard is undoubtedly first!

There still a candle page for me somewhere? I might need to post it elsewhere. I need SOMETHING right now, and am at kind of a loss...

ReplyDeleteThanks. Will try to pop back later. Trying to mutlitask at the moment, and sucking at it.
ReplyDelete52º and as high as it got today. Going to be another long cold night. Adding another comforter.

ReplyDeleteCurrently 58 here. Looks like the high was 61. A balmy 75 is predicted for Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteWe had a beautiful day here, cool and sunny. Definitely feels like Fall.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know how to strip audio files of their encoding?
ReplyDeleteROFL! Moi?! The thought had literally never crossed my mind!
ReplyDeleteBut good luck!
I'm home! (For the night, anyway!) :-)
