Seems I'm first to sign on where Howard is always No. 1.
tc--{{{Hugz!!}}} I agree with Bill--sounds like your doctor is being very reasonable, and to say that I wish you well is an incredible understatement, but words seem thoroughly inadequate.
And it sure does put my situation into perspective, too. My colonoscopy went fine this morning, no polyps, no sign of recurrence, just a little radiation damage. My mind is still a little clouded by the sedatives--similar to lack of sleep, should be fine in the morning. If anyone out there ever has to have the experience I have one tip about the prep, which involves drinking a gallon (well, 4 liters, a bit more than a gallon) of PEG plus electolytes (like Gatorade). They say to chill it in the refrigerator for eight hours so it won't taste quite so yucky. The first time, about a year and a half ago, I did just that, and it chilled me from the inside out so badly I was shaking, and no amount of clothing helped. This time I made it up with cold tap water just before I started, and left the jug on the counter. It didn't taste that much worse, and I didn't get chilled so. Much better.
