  2. Tis is what Google's AI says about Virtix:

Virtix Health is a US-based healthcare technology and services company that provides clinical data acquisition, risk adjustment coding, and HEDIS/quality abstraction. They partner with health plans (such as Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and ACA plans) and providers to optimize healthcare operations, manage medical records, and improve documentation.
    Core offerings include:

    • Linx Platform: A HITRUST-certified platform used for medical record retrieval and clinical data management.
    • Risk Adjustment Coding: AI-enabled and human-audited ICD-10 and HCC coding to help providers and payers ensure compliance and audit-readiness.
    • Virtual Wellness Visits: Partial or complete insourcing programs to conduct health risk assessments and support value-based care.

If you are looking for specific services, you can explore their solutions directly on the Virtix Health website.

(Note: There is also an IT consulting company called Virtix IT, which provides cloud solutions, data storage
, and AI architecture, accessible via Virtix IT.)

    1. So, basically, Virtix Health performs a whole bunch of formerly inhouse functions that have been farmed out to a for profit company that doesn't have to bother with any kind of public trust or deal with government employee unions, but rather can concentrate on maximizing its own profits. As W.A. says, it's in their interest to deny claims. They're an unnecessary middleman that profits by, no doubt inflated, government contracts and then again by denying claims. There's no reason for such companies to exist. It is a privately held company, so there is not even the illusion of responsibility to shareholders.

What agency, in principle, would regulate such a company?

  3. Monday, feeling fine. Tuesday, slightly under the weather. Wednesday, cold developing nicely.

I'm planning to spend most of tomorrow, Thursday, in bed or at least lying down - the difference being, in bed means in PJs, while lying down means dressed but resting. I have plenty of water and Gatorade, as well as music, audiobooks and YouTube. Just probably won't make it onto FunTrivia and the blogosphere.
