Cat, your last post on the past thread is definitely something I'm watching too. It's a bit unsettling for our counterparts in GB! Hungary gives hope, though. Be sure to read Heather Cox Richardson's letter from tonight! click here
Good news today: Despite the delay in treatment my PSA (prostate specific antigen) level remains undetectable. That means the cancer remains totally inactive. I have also completed the form telling the upcoming World Science Fiction Convention what panels I might like to be on.
AI Overview As of May 2026, the United States is not just considering an airlift but is actively conducting a massive, ongoing resupply operation to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) amid intensified regional conflict.
Key Findings (May 2026): Active Airlift/Sealift: Reports as of April 30 and May 1, 2026, indicate the U.S. has delivered over 6,500 to 8,000 tons of munitions and military equipment via a "sea and air bridge," nvolving multiple cargo planes and ships.
Massive Delivery: In a single 24-hour period reported in late April 2026, 6,500 tons of weapons—including ground and air munitions, armored utility vehicles, and trucks—were delivered to Israel.
Emergency Authority: In March 2026, the US invoked emergency authority to bypass Congress for a $151.8 million bomb sale (12,000 bomb bodies) specifically to replenish Israel's stock for air operations.
Diverting Aid: The Pentagon has been weighing the diversion of weapons originally intended for Ukraine to the Middle East to support Israel's needs.
Increased Presence: US military activity is high, with C-17 Globe Master 3 transport aircraft, and recent reports mentioned U.S. F-22 fighters and increased refueling tankers in Israel.
Israel's need, my foot! Israel is not being invaded. If Israel wants to conduct discressionary wars, they can bloody well do it with their own materiele. No materiele, no war. Nice and simple.
