After criticizing pope, Trump posts image of himself as Jesus-like figure
NYT: Shortly after criticizing Pope Leo XIV in a lengthy social media post Sunday, President Donald Trump shared an apparently artificial intelligence-generated image depicting him as a Jesus-like figure.
The image, which was posted on the president’s account on his social media platform, Truth Social, shows Trump dressed in white and red robes. In the illustration, the president’s hands emit shining lights, and his right hand is touching the forehead of a man lying on a bed, wearing a hospital gown. The image evokes religious art depicting Jesus healing the sick.
The man in the bed is surrounded by figures looking up at Trump, including a person in a medical uniform with a stethoscope around their neck, a praying woman and a man in a camouflage uniform. The background of the image includes the Statue of Liberty, a building resembling the Lincoln Memorial, fighter jets, eagles, fireworks and a billowing American flag. -- nordy
Why would Trump threaten to block the strait if his goal is to reopen it? Reports indicate that the reopening of the strait – which was open before the war – was one of the big sticking points in the weekend negotiations between the US and Iran. Tehran has indicated that it would like to retain control of the waterway after the war has ended, and has floated a plan to charge a fee of up to $2m for each ship that passes through the waterway. Trump and other world leaders have rejected such a plan as an attack on “freedom of navigation”.
Despite Trump’s claims that reopening the waterway is not his responsibility, the president is under pressure to resolve the issue before the continued closure of the strait unleashes an even greater crisis for the global economy. Trump’s envoys failed to negotiate effectively with Tehran to reopen the waterway. -- nordy
They weren't envoys, they were incompetent buffoons! I mean, think of the insult. Did Trump send diplomats? Did he send experts on the Law of the Sea? Experts on Persian history and culture? Hell, did he send his Secretary of State? No! He sent Vance, who is known to be a blothiating bully, some fly-by-night real estate developer and his son-in-law, whose only brush with international relations is that his family is close, personal friends with Netanyahu! What an embarrassment!
On the plus side, the Knights Templars and other right wing groups are enraged at DT's blasphemy. Is DT now going to complain that they like Jesus more than him? LOL! Marjorie Taylor Greene said posting that image has "Antichrist spirit."
DT is now trying to weasel out of the massive outcry his Jesus portrayal has caused by claiming it actually shows him as a physician. Anybody else here seen it? -- nordy
We saw it and noted his absurd lame attempt at saying it was a doctor image. Even Anderson Cooper on CNN said he's never seen a doctor dressed like that. 😆
