I was reading about the closure of the Death Row at San Quentin Prison and removal of the gas chamber. That led me to the interesting case of People vs. McDaniel [Click] which I had not been aware of. It could effectively end the death penalty in California. —Alan
That will be good. Illinois abolished the death penalty when it was realized that more people on death row had been proven innocent than had actually been executed.
That scene looks familiar. I believe it is a little further up the Chicago River than the hotel that has been the site of more World Science Fiction Conventions than any other city in the world.
