I was reading about the vaccine. Evidently the most recent "bivalent" vaccine didn't have enough of the then most common variant to induce a good antibody response to it. Probably the next one will be completely aimed at the most common variant at that time. There is now a better understanding of how it evolves-- what portions change, and what portions do not, or do so slowly. No matter what, we continue to use masks, limit exposure, and stay vaccinated to the full extent of the law. ----Alan
Very wise, Alan! I'm at the point now where I think that if I got Covid it would not be a fatal or even horribly difficult bout, and most likely not get long Covid. I still don't want to get it and find out.
We had some big cumulus clouds building up over the mountains, but they got smaller; no obvious thunderheads. That is typical. Rarely a thunderstorm will be big enough to come down out of the mountains and into the valley. I remember driving along a mountainside on the way to a hot spring resort way up in the mountains and seeing quite a few "giant" sequoias that had obviously been stunted by centuries of lightning strikes--sort of like gigantic bonsai. ----Alan

ReplyDeleteWe had a two hour thunderstorm this morning. It was *glorious*!!! We're running at about half normal rain for this time of year, so very needed also.

DeleteWe may have just caught up with our average amount of rainfall.
Yet after weeks of dryness, the grass hasn't fully greened back up.
