  2. And thanks for the full moon photo, listener and Will. That reminded me to check the moon dial on our grandfather clock, which had become out of kilter; I thought I had it fixed, and sure enough it is.

    1. Done. Good outcome. Pressure down. No worries on medical side. Vision much improved. Interim glasses help.
      Small print still a problem.

Thanks all for the prayers, good thoughts, best wishes, all. . . .

    1. It has been getting cloudier and cloudier here today; no blue sky at the moment (lunchtime). Several days of slight to modest rain predicted starting tomorrow, temperatures well above freezing, I don’t anticipate any flooding but the newspaper disagrees. The reservoirs have released enough water to accommodate anticipated precipitation. When the skies clear we anticipate a view of even more snow on the mountains.

Blue sky (maybe 30%) now (2 PM)! [Blogger has been reluctant to let me post today. . .]

Union Pacific snowplow working Donner Pass [Click] If anyone here is unfamiliar with the Donner Party, after which the pass is named, here is the Wikipedia article.

4:30 PM, about 90% blue sky.

    2. Weather prediction is still for an inch and a half of rain (which the locals consider heavy) tomorrow, starting about noon, and day after day of rain after that. I remain dubious.

    3. Same weather forecast web site says a quarter inch of rain tomorrow on the single-day forecast; but on the ten-day forecast it says an inch and a half tomorrow. Averaged, I figure that means "positive." Guess we'll just have to take the weather as it comes.

    1. Awww, I got as far as reading: "Department of Justice press conference announcing..." and realised I was holding my breath hoping for the word "indictment."
