  3. I tried to comment earlier, but the comment wouldn't publish. This is a test.

  4. (Susan) I have no room in my heart for sympathy for McConnell. IMHO he single-handedly ruined the Supreme Court and he has packed in judges who are so right-wing they do stuff like let that murderous Kyle Rittenhouse go free.

    3. Karma? Well, I don't need him to be badly injured or to die from this, but it would be good if it gave him pause and he at least retired.

  7. It has been sprinkling this afternoon; a glance at the local weather headlines would make a person think we are going to get terrible flooding, but I think it's a matter of "if it bleeds, it leads." Granted that the ground is already wet. The river shows no sign of rising. A survey to identify the best fish and chips shop in the area also gets high billing.

  8. My sweetie had a slip in the bath tub the other day (nothing serious) and we decided to put a non-slip mat in. I went to a local chain store to see what they had, and when reading the instructions saw that all of the various ones in stock had to be dried between use, then the mat and tub had to be moistened and each suction cup pressed down before use, etc. I figured there ought to be something better and went looking online; found various brands and sizes of "loofah" style bath and shower mats, which looked good. Ordered one, it arrived today, was easy to trim to fit, and seems very promising. If it works as billed we will probably get more.

  9. Robert Reich: Republicans are threatening to default on the US national debt. Don’t believe them [Click] “Here’s a dirty secret: both Republicans’ debt hysteria and Biden’s proposed tax hikes are pure theater. Neither will happen.” I wouldn’t mind Biden having a few trillion dollar coins ready, though.
