Is it true what I heard on Colbert tonight? That since an Arizona county didn't get it's election results certified in time, then its votes won't count ... ? And that would flip a House seat from Rep to Dem, and another office as well?
Okay...I went back and watched that segment again. Because the county is late getting their certification completed, the State is suing them! If they don't get it done pronto then the State of Arizona WILL discount all their votes. I bet that's lighting a fire under them as the Reps would lose a House seat and a schools chief as well.

The headline, like so many headlines, is misleading. The judge found that _the suit alleges_ that Trump stepped outside the bounds of presidential immunity. Whether he actually did kwhat the suit claims he did is a matter for the jury to decide.
“ The chairman said he doubts the panel will release its final report by December 16 -- the last day Congress is scheduled to be in session before the year's end -- but there is a "good possibility" the report is released by Christmas.”
These were shot in Vermont last July. They closed the Shelburne Museum for a few days to accommodate the event. It was on the very day I had planned to bring a visiting granddaughter to the Museum. But it was also the very first time Antiques Road Show had been to Vermont.
Wondering about what happens when the leading candidate for Speaker of the House fails to get enough votes for election, I turned to Wikipedia and found this:
The [most recent] time that an election for speaker went beyond one ballot was in December 1923 at the start of the 68th Congress, when Republican Frederick H. Gillett needed nine ballots to win reelection. Progressive Republicans had refused to support Gillett in the first eight ballots. Only after winning concessions from Republican conference leaders (a seat on the House Rules Committee and a pledge that requested House rules changes would be considered) did they agree to support him.

“A subcommittee of members is also expected to provide options to the full committee about a number of pressing issues including how to present evidence of possible obstruction, possible perjury and possible witness tampering as well as potential criminal referrals to the Department of Justice.”

I think they have done a good job--- as long as they get it done before the next Congress is seated, that's fine.
