“The irony is that Pence was arguably the primary enabler of Trump… He was the mainstream traditional conservative Republican who would go to donors and not just defend Trump and his policies, but with a straight face insist that Donald J. Trump was a good man.”

  3. 10:30 local time; we just got back from our morning walk, and it was pretty warm, although there was a nice breeze in places. Predicted high 103F. I murdered weeds yesterday, so no weed pulling for at least two or three days. I tried some alleged nutgrass killer in a spot where that was the predominate problem, and have hopes it might work.

“The House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol will have at least one more hearing than the six originally planned, and committee members are considering holding even more hearings beyond that,” Time reports.

Said a committee aide: “We continue to receive information via our tip line. This is an ongoing investigation. We continue to take on new evidence every day.”

    2. I was thinking of laying in some more popcorn; but maybe a quart of Rocky Road ice cream would be a nice change.

  6. China’s ‘Very Dangerous Trajectory’ [Click] “The Communist regime has always been brutal, but it was at least predictable and, in its own way, practical. No longer.” Gee. The downward courses of both Russia and China, combined with transition to renewable energy, will (or would) cause huge changes. Interesting times. . .

I fully expect most of the legacy auto makers to go bankrupt; I have precious little sympathy for the companies, although their workers are another matter.
