  1. VT*Grand as Evie tonight in Descendants gave an excellent performance, from expressions and gestures to clear speaking and truly beautiful vocals! Her singing voice has such a rich quality, and we were deeply impressed.

    1. We wore our N95s. I'd say about 5% of the people present were masked. Heh.

    2. It seems to be about the same here. We shall remain more careful than average.

    3. I would have worn a mask, although not an N95, for this sort of large indoor gathering. I also expect to wear one for my retinal exam Wednesday. And for the two science fiction conventions I will be attending in the next couple of months. One of them specifically requires masks as well as vaccination.

  6. We will be picking our cherries this afternoon; the ones lower on the trees are easy to see because of deer eating away the leaves! Miyoko saw a ground squirrel running along the top of the back fence, heading toward one of the cherry trees-- but s/he wasn't leading a group! We will see, but the cherries, although not numerous, look good. This year I sprayed them properly with spinosad-- the only spray that is not toxic, natural, and prevents damage by the two-spotted vinegar flies. Whether it kills them or they just don't like the taste or smell, I don't know.

    1. Wow. You're picking cherries and around here our fruit trees are just beginning to bloom! They're a week or two late, but they look great.

Spent the day working in the gardens, planted a few rose bushes and a Lavender, and did a ton of mulching. Now a few days of rain...so a rest!

    2. It might be a little early to pick the cherries--but I prefer my fruit riper than does my good wife, and she wants to share them with friends tomorrow/today (Sunday). We only had a few (5?) with vinegar fly larvae in them; we find them by soaking the cherries in dark-colored plastic bowls, which makes them come out.

  7. So, I did go to the march today and my youngest son went with me for support. I re-used my two-sided sign and son was amused because multiple people asked to photo it - both sides.
