    1. The Biggest Black Hole Known [Click] The text (which I have read) seems different from the video (which I have spot checked). Both incomprehensible.

  3. “One of the biggest donors to Britain’s Conservative Party is suspected of secretly funneling hundreds of thousands of dollars to the party from a Russian account,” the New York Times reports. OOPS. . .

  4. Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) “is continuing his breakneck fundraising pace,” the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.
“He’ll report raising nearly $5.6 million between April 1 and May 4 in a special federal filing he’s set to submit on Thursday.”

    Well, that’s good.

    1. Warnock and his ex-wife are in a custody battle at the same time he's campaigning. Very bad look.

  5. I guess summer's here. When I accessed the newspaper web page this afternoon, it said the current temperature was 93F

  6. I have to attend a Woman's Rights rally on Saturday. And, dammit!, I don't want to! Curse the Supreme Court and Mitch McConnell for making it necessary. Trying to figure out how to make a good, readable, poster of this:

    " scream
    so that one day
    a hundred years from now
another sister will not have to
    dry her tears wondering
    where in history
    she lost her voice.

    1. Good sentiment, but the legend is too long for an effective poster. Yellow on black or vice versa is a good color combination. The office supply stores typically carry stiff black poster-sized boards (in the presentation supplies area) with sort of a foam interior that work well--light and stiff. I'd estimate they are about 3/16 of an inch thick. Two can be joined back to back over a lath to make a double sided poster.

    2. I've got the foamcore board. Just have to decide what to put on it. I almost always use both sides. At my last women's march one side said "Now you have PISSED OFF Grandma!"

    3. Here is a very succinct poster, Susan [Click] Not everyone would be able to use it, though. Ought to work well on a diamond-shaped sign.

    4. Susan, how about: "SHOUT NOW so another woman doesn't lose her voice" ?

  7. Silly headline of the day:
USA Today: 'A matter of life or death': GOP lawmakers bash Biden for worsening baby formula shortage
So what were babies fed on before store-bought, ready-made formula, eh?
I pulled down our copy of Doctor Spock, and there was a recipe for formula made with evaporated milk and corn syrup. Not that I would expect "GOP lawmakers" to be able to figure out something so complicated.

  8. Heck, maybe I could just re-use my sign from the last march. The other side said, "So bad even introverts are here!"
