    1. I imagine she is not alone, in Russia!

It will be a long season of lament. We will surely be blamed for some time. But whenever Putin is overthrown or dies, the truth may yet come to the fore. Eventually, the truth will out.

  2. Happy about two things today…
    * The impending snowstorm now looks to be 6-9” rather than the 10-17” previously expected. As we will have 40s and 50s all week, it will quickly melt.
    Which brings me to:
    * Our Maverick is officially off the train car. No one yet knows which of three transport car haulers will pick it up, or when. Could be in 3 days or could be two weeks. At least it is only 147 miles away now.

    1. 147 miles? It probably wouldn't work well to bop on over there and liberate it, I suppose.

    1. It was no coincidence that the Antonov 225 airplane that was wantonly destroyed by Russian troops was in Ukraine. It was one of the outstanding achievements of Soviet engineering. The Antonov Design Bureau and its successors specialized in transport aircraft, mostly military. Destroying Antonov will effectively disable many large Russian military transport aircraft. As memory serves me, Ukrainian engineers also developed a super high speed submarine rocket torpedo.

  4. Putin’s Challenge To The American Right [Click]
March 11, 2022 By Taegan Goddard

Andrew Sullivan: “It would perhaps be too glorious an irony if it were Vladimir Putin who finally buzz-killed the American and European right’s infatuation with post-liberalism.”

“But, as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine staggers shambolically and criminally forward, it’s no longer unthinkable. The icon of the West’s new right is in serious trouble now — and it might tarnish all of those who only yesterday were idolizing his reactionary zeal.”

    Three cheers for glorious irony!
