  1. Somehow I imagine Alan looking at today's photo and title and commenting on the *lack* of green. 🤣

  3. DIL 3's painting yesterday is quite beautiful. I love the colors and the texture.

I have been pretty sick for the past few months. Similar to puddles' piriformis trials, but not. Finally see glimpses of recovery. Anyway, that's why I've been mostly absent.

    3. ❤️ Had hoped you were just busy quilting.

I like the sound of "glimpses of recovery"! May the landscape brighten as the days lengthen.

  5. I expect the estimates are likely low. I'm informed that the tax digest, the basis of our tax revenues, increased 6% in 2020 and is slated to increase another 6% in 2021. I think we are going to have trickle up.

    1. A friend's son is in charge of the ICU at our Med Center. She tells me they have cancelled plans for their Christmas Eve family dinner, due to his concerns about the spread of Omicron. (When Larson says don't, DON'T!)

    2. Oh, good heavens--far too risky to have a Christmas Eve family dinner. But who is Larson?

    3. Larson is none other than Dr. Larson Erb, head of the ICU at the Medical Center of Vermont.

    4. ...He's also a trauma surgeon. And PhD*Son used to be his babysitter when he was a kid. His Mom was a birder who taught PhD*Son a lot about birds, and a harpist who took lessons alongside Daughter, from famous harpist Christina Tourin. His Mom was also one of my coworkers at the Library.

      Small town. LOL.

  6. I got a follow-up call from Penny's neurologist while I was gone. Message on the answering machine: MRI didn't really tell is anything. No sign of stroke or anything else that might directly account for her symptoms. Brain shrinkage not notably greater than would be expeced from normal aging. So the suggestion is to bring her in for another face-to-face meeting. I'm guessing there won't be an appointment available until February.

  9. It was one year ago today that Wil went in for surgery to clear a 90% blocked widowmaker artery. After which, he coded...which situation has about a 10% survival rate. I am so deeply grateful we still have him!!
