listener--in re Mexican Coca-Cola, here in Fresno it is always in stock at Costco for one place, but that doesn't do you any good. It commands a higher price than the US version in cans, but obviously a lot of people think it is worth it.
The State of Texas v. Jesus Christ [Click] “Texas’s refusal to allow a pastor to pray while holding a dying man’s hand is an offense to basic Christian values.” Not to mention plain human decency.
So, one of the issues with the phones is built-in censorship. There is definitely a larger pattern of China becoming more isolationist. In addition to teaching test prep to pre-med students, I have been teaching English as a second language to children in China. New Chinese regulations have seriously upended that industry.
The Chinese government has been riding a tiger for a very long time now, but several very big problems that have been looming over them all seem to be maturing. I wouldn't bet against them managing to control everything, or at least enough, but a slow-rolling disaster isn't impossible. Misjudgements under extreme circumstances that people don't have experience with are not uncommon.
Essentially the first thing I did this fall was to make my hotel reservation for the Arisia science fiction convention in Boston, January 14-17. I made my train reservations yesterday. That takes care of all reservations through Febuary, with nothing open for anything later. Definite relief to have all of that taken care of.
Social Security makes payments only from its own trust funds, so how can the federal government hold up SS payments? p.s. Would be really nice if they made an effort to pay back the $2.6 Trillion they "borrowed".
Incidentally, the idea of the government borrowing money from the trust funds is pure budgetary flim-flam. The government buget treats Social Security income and payments as though they were made by the government, but that doesn't actually affect the trust funds in any way.
