  1. I just read an article about Alex Padilla, California’s new US Senator. [Click] I was very struck by the similarities in our life experiences and attitudes—not our career paths, but the things that really matter. He has my vote, no question about it.

A new CBS News/YouGov poll finds 58% of Americans say President Biden is trying to find common ground with Republicans in Congress.
In contrast, 61% said that Republicans were just opposing Biden as much as possible.

    1. Well, if the presumption of probity precedes the presumption of innocence, as I would argue, then incivil demands for compliance would be considered a violation of civil rights. Until now the law enforcement and justice system has preferred to consider the presumption of innocence something that signals the start of a trial. Certainly, the law enforcement insistence on compliance is at odds with their supposed duty to receive and investigate the validity of complaints. After all, for the ordinary person, guilt only attaches to harm caused to another person.

    2. Historically, the stock market has typically risen during the early days of a Democratic presidency and declined during the early days of a Republican presidency.

“Reporters joke about how Joe Biden is traffic death, but like I literally just took his name out of a HP headline and clicks on the piece jumped 40%.
This may also have something to do with why the GOP is having trouble attacking him.”

It might also have something to do with things like this:

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) repeated the false claim that President Joe Biden has proposed to restrict how much red meat Americans are allowed to eat in a Fox News interview. McCarthy’s interviewer, Sean Hannity, did not correct him.

    1. If you mean in Facebook Messenger, I wouldn't open it for two reasons. It could be spam or a scam, but even if it's a real person, once you accept a message from someone on Messenger they can continually contact you and even call you.
