  1. Biden Seeks to Beef Up IRS Audits of High-Earners [Click] Restoring the IRS’s ability to conduct audits is very long overdue. If you want to catch fish, you have to fish where the fish are.

  2. Go figure:

A new NBC News poll released finds that 44% of registered voters see President Joe Biden as “very” or “somewhat” liberal, while 42% see him as “moderate.”
In contrast, in April 2009, the NBC News poll found that 59% of registered voters saw Barack Obama as “very” or “somewhat” liberal, while 30% saw him as moderate.

  3. California braces for another 'clown car' of recall candidates [Click] Among the 2003 candidates there are several who stick in my mind other than Gray Davis and Schwartzenegger. I remember the railway switchman (who better to get the state back on track?), a judo wrestler (good for rasslin’ with the legislature), and the obviously most experienced candidate (a 95 year old lady, as memory serves me).

    1. It's an outlet for me. I make some effort to not just regurgitate what is saturating the news.

  6. My day began early and ended late. Had a routine mammogram, the needed a broken filling replaced at the dentist, then spent 5 hours working in the gardens!

    1. Newsflash! Discovered by listening to my dentist chat that he believes some conspiracy theories about Covid and that he thinks the mask mandates were unnecessary and should be dropped. Moreover, he said that in retrospect he and his family and his staff at the office and their families all got Covid in January 2020, after his son's martial arts instructor in Quebec, Canada (where said dentist's wife is from) got Covid and it permeated the gym. Worst of all, since he is a dentist in practice by himself, he said that he and his staff still went to work, just masked. At the time, of course, they wouldn't have known it was Covid. But he said they work even when sick (because they don't have an alternative).

Wil is very upset about all of the above, and is going to change dentists. That sounds good to me! And anyway, I already found us a different dentist, because the last two times I needed dental care our dentist was away on vacation...! The practice that was covering for him is really good, and there are three dentists.

    2. Thanks; I try to work in some variety--the sort of things that would appeal to a diverse and highly sophisticated audience!
