    1. I kinda enjoyed this, despite the gas waste.

    2. Maybe it was carbon-neutral gasoline. (Yes, there is such a thing, albeit not yet available at your friendly neighborhood gas station.)

  4. As soon as we opened the garage door to go for our morning constitutional we could smell wildfire smoke. The official weather report doesn't yet reflect that, but the nose knows. It's low to the ground--the sky overhead still looks largely blue, but the lower one looks the more obvious the smoke becomes. Phooey.

    1. 😕 Does this mean you skipped your walk? May you stay safe.

Dean friend in Colorado had to evacuate. Family member 2 miles from evacuation zone. Other loved ones there smelling smoke.

    2. We went for our walk; it wasn't too bad. But there hadn't been any smell of smoke for several days.

  5. I do not trust this day. There is something strange in the atmosphere. Planned to spend the day putting garden to bed and planting iver 100 bulbs. Got message reminding me I have a meeting. Tried to shift meeting time and meeting got postponed. Son left his coat here last night so came back for it while I was attempting to shift the meeting. Needed my laptop to print a document, during which I missed the person I was trying to reach. Then I checked FB and there was a notification that the monks I follow were Live. Odd time of day for that, so I checked and they were doing a check on their camera system unaware that they were live. Right after that, I got a notification that Daughter’s Church was Live. Checked and found a blank “testing” screen. what is going on with all these near misses? A truly ridiculous and slightly eerie feeling day. There is literally no wind at all, and we have neither rain nor sun. Wish me luck in the garden. LOL.

    1. Maybe the Universe is harboring its energy to put together a giant fireball to shoot at trump when he has his temper tantrum at the debate?

    2. I still like the idea of a big and very thick bell jar descending over the debate participant whose turn is over.

  7. Fresno County altogether has recorded 30,220 people who have been infected with the virus to date. There have been 430 deaths. Earlier this week, 114 patients confirmed with the virus were hospitalized in Fresno County. Of those, 24 were in the intensive-care unit.

  8. Adam Serwer in The AtlanticPack the Court, Save the Vote [Click] “The Supreme Court’s conservative majority appears poised to entrench minoritarian rule without the consent of the electorate.” A very long but convincing argument.

  9. Yah, the debate was much better than that other one. Yet, CNN's fact checker said that even though the volume was lower, DT spewed more lies this time than last time...!

  10. The summary of the debate that I just read, plus various comments, sounds pretty good for the side of right and light. I wasn't up to watching it, but by coincidence fell to watching a BBC documentary on Hitler's planned invasion of Britain--which was not well conceived and failed spectacularly.
