OK, I watched Biden's acceptance speech. It's really not possible to say for sure--one would need to analyze a transcript--but it seems he had about four major topics, which he came back to time and again. That's a good number, and an effective pattern. His delivery was good. All in all a very capable speech, and far beyond the ability of our current Dear Leader.
OHIO;As of Friday afternoon, there have been at least 113,046 confirmed or probable cases in the state, 3,955 deaths, and 12,719 hospitalizations, according to the Ohio Department of Health.
More and more elected Republican officials are seeing that: (A) Trump does not truly reflect the values of the Republican Party; (B) in any remotely purple state he will drag down anyone associated with him.
Yes, Gov. Phil Scott said as much in a news conference. I give him much credit for being a truly decent human being. I do not hold with some of his policies, but he has done well ~ following the science ~ during this pandemic. Vermont still has the lowest positivity rate in the nation. We are told to expect the numbers to rise as the college students return (that's already happening), but so far we're basically okay.
BTW, I chose the theme out front for today as LothLorien, because it is eldest grandchild Lorien's 14th birthday. She celebrated with an outdoor movie night in their back yard. They hang a sheet from the swingset and project movies onto it. It works great and makes for easy and safe social distancing. We got to try it out when we visited last month.

ReplyDeleteIf the two storms get within 900 miles of each other we may see the rare Fujiwara Effect, wherein the two storms rotate counter-clockwise around each other. And all of this will be happening during the Republican National Convention.

That doesn't necessarily mean he'll lose that constituency though, or any of the other constituencies he's screwed over. *sigh*
