In a survey by YouGov Chat last night we were shown TV ads by every winning presidential candidate from Eisenhower through Obama and asked to pick out favorite. What I noticed is that the ones I liked most all had music. In fact, my second pick after Obama's "Yes we can" would have been "I like Ike," which had nothing going for it but bouncy, upbeat music and maybe some cute cartoon figures. Reagan's "Morning for America" was the only one without music that I would give the time of day to.
Have there been any ads with music this time around? I don't watch TV, of course, but I haven't seen any mentioned here.
That's an interesting observation, Bill; it makes all kinds of sense. But it might be something of a challenge in the present circumstances. I will have to see if I can find the episode online.
