Just yesterday I was reflecting on the candidates to whom I am sending my small contributions. There are three:
Rafael Warnock, Georgia US Senate, Charles Booker, Kentucky US Senate, and Jamaal Bowman, NY-16.
It dawned on me that not a one of them is melanocytically challenged; that's something new for me. Well, for the past three elections I have voted for a woman as President (not one of them named Hillary) and that doesn't look like it will happen again this year. Am I making a compensatory course correction? Or going with the flow? Or being simply right-minded? I suppose the available selections have something to do with it.
Trump Holds Rally In Tulsa June 20, 2020 at 7:41 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard Attendance at President Trump’s campaign rally in Tulsa is reported to be underwhelming.
From The Guardian live blog: The cameras have shown a wide view of the arena, and there are plenty of empty seats in the upper decks and on the floor (there are more people in the lower ring of seats). The president was due on stage by now, and Mike Pence has left the stage so he should be on soon. Fox News says it looks “packed” but it’s ... not? Anyway, it’s probably not the most important issue in the country right now. Pictures on Twitter [Click]
The Trump campaign blamed “radical protesters” for stopping some of the president’s supporters from attending today’s rally. Our southern bureau chief, Oliver Laughland, is on the ground tonight and saw no evidence of that. Photos here. [Click] It lookx like DT will not be addressing the overflow crowd.

York was the seat of government of Upper Canada, and the Yankees burnt the legislature and the archives. Only a couple of years ago was one of their trophies--a sculpture of an eagle, as I recall, taken from the legislature--returned to Canada. Washington was torched in retaliation. Quite reasonably, I dare say. One or two of my ancestors, as part of a well-regulated militia, helped to defend Upper Canada from the perfidious Yankees in the War of 1812. There was another relative who had moved south of the border and served with said Yanks in the same war.
