  1. CNN: Trump will lose in a landslide because of the economy, new election model predicts. [Click] I could accept that. Especially since he would take down a lot of Republican politicians with him.

    1. I don't think he is capable of understanding it no matter how it is presented. A senile paranoid psychotic belongs in a memory care home. Come to think of it, I saw a passing reference to Trump liking Adderall--no idea if that is true, will have to look it up. That could help a bit with senility, but carries some risk of paranoid psychosis.

    2. It seem there have been persistent reports of Adderall abuse by Our Paramount Leader.

  4. WE CAUGHT HIM!!! 🐈

Pumpkin T. Cat is on his way to a good life!

Over the last few days I was able to gain his trust more and more, even give him rubs and today he let me pick him up. He didn't weigh half what our cats do. I was then able to coax him into the Havahart trap (raccoon size) to get his lunch, and while he was eating, I was able to lower the door softly. He didn't even know he was caught until he finished eating and turned to go.

His new person came right away and took him straight to her vet's office (which is just two small streets away from us, so not a long ride). He will taken good care of there, have no more fleas and ticks, get the shots he has NEVER had, and be neutered. He'll think all of that a very poor idea. But as of tomorrow he will get to go home and live with his new people and have a life of luxury. The fact that he has gotten so friendly with me this past week and more tells me he really does want that sort of human relationship. He's very sweet and sure deserves a good home.

  6. Glad to hear about Pumpkin T. This has not been a good year for our cats. We had three cats we inherited when next door renters moved and abandoned them: Simba, who had already moved in with us; Sidney, who also moved in; and a littermate of Sidney whose name we didn't make a note of, but called Cow Cat because her black and white pattern resembled a dairy cow. Cow Cat was semi feral and seemed to spend its nights somewhere next door. Then Naomi came back home with her cat, which mostly stayed upstairs. A third cat inside was too much for Sydney and he began to act out, so we put him outside. Eventually he moved in with someone else--on the next street, we think--and rarely comes here any more. He seems well cared for, but hardly meows any more. Then Naomi's cat (Cha-cha) was losing weight seriously and we feared she was dying. Took her to the vet, who determined it was advanced renal failure, so we had her put to sleep. We buried her in the front yard next to another long time cat who had come to us as a stray, and planted a purple hibiscus between them (I hope it grows well). A while back Simba became sick, but he recovered. Then the Cow Cat started coming closer and closer, and meowing more (it started meowing several months ago.) She tolerated being combed, even came into the house a bit and accepted a bath--but she was skin and bones. Simba retreated to the other end of the house--I suspect he smelled death. Cow Cat stayed overnight (hiding in a chair underneath the kitchen table) and I found her collapsed by the back door the next morning. I opened the door and she just barely made her way out; she wouldn't take any food, but then disappeared. I found where she had been hiding yesterday afternoon; she couldn't stand, and was obviously not long for this world. I wrapped her in a towel and carried her to her happy place; that's where she would appear each morning, looking over the river valley and at the distant mountains, waiting for the rising sun to warm that spot. This morning she was gone, and we buried her there, with a generous serving of kitty treats for the other side. I sure hope Simba continues well; he is an old cat, certainly.

  7. Defense lawyers look to reopen cases where Tara Reade testified as an expert [Click] “Reade stated under oath she had an undergraduate degree that her college said she never earned and appears to have exaggerated her role in Joe Biden’s office.” And the other day a considerable number of women who worked with Joe Biden said they never experienced, heard of, or observed any such bad behavior on his part as she alleged.
