I figure that "Medicare For All" and "Green New Deal" are both vague and aspirational. No one has any idea what sort of bills might make it through Congress and be approved by the President.
In my mind, the term "Medicare for All" has always been specific and concrete: having everybody covered by something effectively equivalent to current Medicare. Bernie is proposing something very specific and concrete, but it is significantly different from current Medicare. Why not call it something like Universal Health Insurance?
What happened at the Stonewall fifty years ago. [Click] Can’t say as I paid much attention to it at the time, but this observational and reflective/interpretive retrospection is a good read IMO. It has relevance to the broader concept of revolution.
Recently the very nice Seiko wristwatch that my sweetie bought for me as a wedding present failed; I think the last time I had the battery changed it wasn’t resealed properly and water got into it. Repair is possible, but impractically expensive. So I went looking; I was surprised at how huge almost all men’s wristwatches have become.
Wapo: New use for BCG, supply problems. [Click] Amazing to me: BCG, the 19th-Century tuberculosis vaccine, is now used for treatment of certain bladder cancers, and the only remaining US manufacturer can’t keep up with demand.
