Link doesn't seem to work. It has long been my opinion that if it is OK for government to run a numbers racket (calling it a "lottery" doesn't make it one) should it be alleged that some of the proceeds will be distributed to schools, there is no logical social barrier to state-approved/regulated/owned whorehouses and opium dens.
And I thought it was a step in the wrong direction for the country to elect a divorced man (Reagan) President. But the prospect of decriminalization of prostitution reminds me of this:

Are Americans ready to legalize prostitution? [click] I had been totally unaware that Democratic presidential candidates have expressed openness to this idea.
