Late Daffodil

  1. I would have called this Early Daffodil if I'd gotten it posted on time!

Sorry about that. Mixture of weekend travel exhaustion and grandchildren on the premises!

    1. Aw, thanks, Alan.
It's from my trip to Maine. We stopped at a quaint, little garden center, and there was this gorgeous bulb in bloom.

  3. Bill--Reflecting on the fairness of raising the SS benefit cap along with the income cap for contributions reminds me of an old lesson:

41 And as Jesus sat over against the treasury, he beheld how the people cast money into the treasury, and many rich men cast in much.

42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a quadrin.

43 Then he called unto him his disciples, and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury.

44 For they all did cast in of their superfluity: but she of her poverty did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

    1. Sundara: "The lofty goal of saving the soul of the Republic doesn’t resonate with the millions of Americans living paycheck to paycheck. Their political priority is rightly decent jobs, healthcare, housing rights and the constraining of corporate interests. Many of these are issues that Elizabeth Warren excels at talking about: why shift the attention to dull Washington hearings?"

Because it's the right thing to do. What DT and his Campaign did was wrong. That's reason enough. Why does it have to be politically expedient to do the right thing? Besides, I do not think the average American doesn't care about anything but themselves and their paycheck to paycheck life. I think people will be much better able to survive paycheck to paycheck if they have hope of this nation regaining a moral compass!

  5. The [House] Democrats Aren’t Really in Disarray Over What to Do About Mueller[’s Report [Click] Lawmakers are, for the most part, united behind three immediate goals.

And now to go rake up some weeds we pulled the other day.

  6. Alan, do you get fireweed in California? My trip to Alaska when I was 18 was my first encounter, and it's lovely.

    1. I haven't noticed any around here in the San Joaquin Valley, but well remember it where I grew up in northern California. It was also featured in some of our science lessons in elementary or grammar school. Yes, it certainly is pretty.

  8. The House MUST impeach. Now Cheetolini is telling everyone who got a subpoena to just ignore it. He has made it clear that he WILL NOT obey the law. He MUST go!
