  1. Bernie is first!

Alan, I'm confident you'll enjoy Beowulf.

No explanation, no speculation, no nothin' as far as the blindness gender disparity. Just the statement. Can't show you the context because Facebook has been down for several hours.

So after he checks out of Club Fed, maybe he checks into Sing Sing? Better yet.

    1. I'll feel better when the State charges come to jail time, since a President cannot pardon state charges.

  4. May loses another vote on no-deal Brexit, by 43 votes this time. [Click] So we are right on the schedule predicted by the opinion I linked to a few days ago--which said the next step is to agree to exit the EU but stay in the customs union.

    1. It's about time. I've been feeling so concerned, especially for the pilots and flight staff required to be on those planes every day.

I saw this and blurted out: "DT signed Bibles?!! This is sickening!!"
Wil quipped: "Signed by the author?"

    Ewwww!!! Ew! Ew! Ew!!

    1. That was going on when he was down in Alabama recently. I would suggest building a wall around Alabama rather than along the US-Mexico border, but then I remember Alabama Shakes. But they have some pretty weird folks down there, that's for sure.

    1. Still down here too. I have gotten a few messages up today, but they are about 4% of what's been asked. Must be a BIG issue.

    2. It's evidently here and there worldwide; Facebook says it isn't a distributed denial of service attack, but that is all I have seen about it.

  9. FB is back, though having been offline myself all evening, I don't know when it came back.

Alan, didn't Aunty Beeb say this latest vote is not legally binding? So, if it isn't legally binding, why bother? And the conservatives are hot and bothered about staying in the customs union. And the backstop remains a problem. What a godawful mess! In fact, I think this qualifies as a FUBAR!

    1. It isn't clear to me which latest vote is not legally binding, or to what degree it is or isn't. But FUBAR it certainly is.

  10. The Beto Odyssey [Click] This explicitly recognizes something about Beto’s game-playing that I think I suspected, and did not like.

Is Beto the Front-Runner or Already a Flop? [Click] “He probably has only a week or two to be tagged as”…one or the other.

The Myth of Joe Biden’s Working-Class Support [Click] “Beyond two previous presidential runs that barely got off the ground, he’s never run a race on his own outside Delaware, and the last competitive race he had there was his first one, when Richard Nixon was president.”

    1. Ah. So, you're saying these dogs won't hunt? Can't say as I'm sorry. Getting mighty tired of hearing about both of them. Like my Aunt Patty always says, "Either pee or get off the pot!"

    2. I don't know, but the writers are doubtful, and I am inclined to hope they are right. It might be interesting to see how much money they raise in small donations during the first 24 hours after they announce (assuming that they do).

  11. Currently on book two of a mystery series called Paws and Claws. The first book is Murder She Barked and the second, The Ghost and Mrs. Mewer. Our young heroine moves back to her grandmother's inn in the peaceful tourist town of Wagtil in the mountains of Virginia. The nearest large town with an M.E. is Roanoke, so this must be the general part of Virginia my dad's from. Holly, our heroine, has been adopted by a Jack Russell terrier named Trixie and a calico kitten named Twinkletoes, hence paws and claws, who help her investigate local murders and other strange and sinister occurrences. Very good for light weight reading.

  12. An e-mail answer to my question about why Bernie doesn't have a web page--Alan

"We will have a full website with an issues page soon, and the campaign will be releasing many detailed policy proposals over time elaborating on how Bernie will accomplish his priorities.

In the meantime, you can submit your policy question via the following form and we will do our best to get you an answer as soon as we can: https://bsanders.us/questionform. (We may not get back to you immediately because of the volume of questions we have received, but we will try to respond to everyone.)

You can also view Bernie’s YouTube page [Click], where we've published hundreds of videos of Bernie discussing issues across the country. He answers many policy questions in those videos, which might address your question directly."

    Have a great day!

  13. I think I will work on my current Art project some more this evening. It is a three-part project, starting with a representational drawing of my hand, then an abstract form of same, then finally non-representational. Three textures, three values (of dark/bright). I have the rough sketches of the first two, but next need to transfer them to the good drawing paper; not sure if I will use a light box or not; maybe a layer of graphite on the back, then tape in place on the paper and transfer with a stylus. The third version I can do directly. Will experiment with color, hatching, and breaking things up like cubism. Should be fun. I actually did a fairly good drawing of my hand in pencil.
