It's past midnight (CDT) and this isn't related to anything that has gone before, so I'll post it here.
Someone on the American Medical Writers email list is doing an article on procrastination and asked for examples of how we procrastinate. I've recently realized that many of the naps I've been taking the past few years in fact have more to do with procrastination than an actual need for sleep. It turns out that the person doing the article is a sleep specialist and remarked that older people in fact need naps. Her father, who is my age, naps regularly and is the better for it. BUT, when I went to that science Fiction convention the first of the month, I had no need to procrastinate and took no naps at all. I'm not saying I never, ever need a nap to catch up on my sleep, but I think that's good evidence I need fewer than I have been taking.
Naps as a way of procrastinating? That's the first time either she or I have heard of it, but it seems to fit.
And the schmuck evidently thought he had done well and would get good press. It is said he and his wife looked downcast as they walked into the White House. His attempts to contradict himself seem not to be helpful; plausible deniability is not part of his skill set. It is to be expected that he will lash out bigly in the next few days. He probably figures (and probably is correct) that the Congressional GOP will do nothing.
The Unintended Consequences of Helsinki[Click] An interesting analysis of the contrast between Trump’s friendliness toward Russia and his administration’s actual behavior. It must drive him up the wall.
So that’s why Trump picked on Montenegro—he was carrying Putin’s water (again). [Click] “Enter Montenegro, which became a NATO member last year. Russia and Montenegro have traditionally been allies—with close cultural and economic ties. So the question of NATO membership became a serious bone of contention between them. In 2016, Montenegro accused Russia of plotting an election-day coup to kill the then-prime minister in order to seat a pro-Moscow politician who would, Montenegrin prosecutors have said, reverse course on NATO membership. A trial of the alleged coup plotters is ongoing. Russia denies any role, though after Montenegro joined NATO last year, Moscow vowed ‘retaliatory measures’ against its former ally’s ‘hostile course.’”

Please take a half hour and listen to today's Fresh Air with Terry Gross. Much of this information has just come out. Part of what was hidden in Britain came out only Sunday.
From an email I just saw: "Nunes just released a lengthy attack ad - not against Andrew - but against his local in-district newspaper, The Fresno Bee. He’s calling it “fake news” run by a “band of creeping correspondents.” (<< who does that sound like?)
The only possible foundation for that is that once a reporter questioned a neighbor about Nunes, who said he was OK as a neighbor. But I guess it takes a creep[er] to know one... I had sent AJ a little more love not long before. Also replaced my Bernie 2016 bumper sticker with a Janz bumper sticker (it's kind of a wimpy little thing, though).

I can see that, Bill. I find various ways to procrastinate. The word is interesting in itself.
