Trillium

  1. Wikipedia has a very interesting article about trilliums [Click] Among other things, they grow from rhizomes, the seeds are dispersed by ants, and picking any part off a trillium can kill it. I remember them growing naturally in shady wooded places. And those are some nice looking metamorphic rocks you have there, listener!

  2. You might gather that California has a long ballot this time…[Click] Voting starts tomorrow; I have received three mailers for two candidates for US Representative, and today there was a good-sized ad in the paper for Superior Court judge. Too bad his list of endorsements includes several prominent persons and organizations I disfavor. Actually, we have for judicial candidates for two seats, and I see nothing in any of their official statements that would encourage me to vote for one of them.

    1. Actually, we have FOUR judicial candidates for two seats….[and I was tempted to “accidentally” misspell “two” to [another opportunity] even things out…

    1. Oh, gee.

Here is a short video.[Click] I think they say Kilauea has been erupting continuously for 35 years—it is the most active volcano in the world. That was a strong earthquake they had the other day, too—magnitude 6.9.
