    1. Alan, Melissa McCathy's spoof was SO good, and she even looked a lot like him! Amazing!! You definitely don't want to miss this. They need to make her a regular!

  3. Meet the men who could topple Donald Trump [Click] “The retired generals Mattis and Kelly will stand up to the president if he pushes them too far. Were they to resign, Congress would likely desert him too.”

My personal impressions of Marine Corps officers has been very positive. They impress me as people of great honor, more so than in some other branches of the armed forces.

    1. Copied from article on Facebook:

General James “Mad Dog” Mattis, and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Joseph Dunford, were reportedly able to persuade Trump to move forward by claiming Obama would never have been so bold to actually go through with it.

Me again, they know Cheetolini is easily manipulated by appeals to his "manhood" and his ego. Mattis is not called "Mad Dog" for nothing, and he will use Cheetolini's weak ego to gain authorization to strike at anyone he wants to with military force.

  4. And under the heading of "There's no Global Warming"......... It's 61 degrees here in SW Ohio with a threat of thunderstorms (had a big one last night), and tomorrow it will be 31 degrees with a chance of snow. We can no longer predict the weather, we can only guess at it.

    1. As a long-time Chicagoan, my response is, "So what else is new?" Although, wildly variable as it is and always has been, the weather remains predictable because it has spent two days marching across the plains with nothing to deflect it.

    3. There is a difference, though. While the day to day has always been unpredictable, we could at least rely on general, typical patterns of Arctic air and Westerlies. No longer. The Arctic is losing it's ice and storms that come via the Westerlies are becoming larger and stronger.

    4. Ah --- These New Englanders and *their* weather.

    5. But more seriously: This January in Chicago was close to records for both warmth and cloudiness. Which means we spent much less time than usual totally within the Arctic air mas.

It sounds like Chicago is noticing the same changes.

  5. I hope that some of the current Republicans in Congress are mulling the Jim Jeffords option.

  8. "I wish there were a way I could wave a magic wand and put it back when people were respectful of each other and the Congress was working for the good of the country and not just along party lines," Ginsburg said.
"Someday there will be great people," she said, "great elected representatives who will say 'enough of this nonsense, let's be the kind of legislature the United States should have.' I hope that day will come when I'm still alive. "
