    By Taegan Goddard [politicalwire.com]

“He has put the right issues on the table both for the Democratic Party and for the country in general so I’m still cheering Bernie on.”

    — Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), quoted by the Associated Press.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) blamed “Donald Trump and his henchmen” for planting a National Enquirer story that accused him of extramarital affairs, the Washington Post reports.
Vehemently denying the story as “garbage” and “complete and utter lies,” Cruz also took his longest step yet toward refusing to back Trump if he won the party’s nomination: “I don’t make a habit out of supporting people who attack my wife and attack my family.”

Trump In Hog Heaven Over Unsourced National Enquirer Claim Of Cruz Affairs

After disavowing any role in the story being published, Trump went on to suggest the tabloid, which broke the story of former Democratic presidential candidate and then-Sen. John Edwards' (D-NC) infidelity, was a reputable source.

    1. Reputable? Ahem. And this is a man millions of Americans want to trust with the nuclear codes?

  3. If things have already come to such a pass in March, what could the November Surprise be? The mind boggles...

I checked The Onion to see what they had to say about it--exactly NOTHING so far. Has reality finally exceeded satire?

    1. The Cruz vs. Trump kerfuffle made it onto the BBC news site. That's the sort of dirty laundry we really don't need the neighbors seeing. *sigh*

  4. More than ten thousand people (and one little bird) turn out for Bernie in Portland. In Seattle (rally still underway) lines began to form at 5AM for 4PM opening of gates. Bernie was supposed to start at 6PM, delayed until nearly 7 PM to allow thousands of people still in line to get through security and be seated. The stadium has a capacity of 54,000, but the photos I have seen don't show anyone in the second deck.
