That is an addition to a post the Internet gremlins displayed here, then deleted! But I had kept a copy, temporarily:
I got my Bernie bumper sticker today and put it in place of my Jill Stein/Cheri Honkala one. The latter, in addition to being unusual enough to stand out even in Berkeley, was unusual in shape (nearly square, colors (green and yellow), and layout (background half yellow, half green). That made it very good for identifying my car (a gray midsize sedan) in a parking lot.
It occurs to me to wonder whom Bernie might pick as a running mate…that’s an important matter for me. The most prominent person to endorse Bernie so far is Bill DiBlasio, but one can’t be mayor of NYC without having a lot of people displeased with you, and there’s no geographic diversity there. Although Kinky Friedman would add to a Jeb Bush ticket, I don’t think he would be helpful to Bernie. Hmmmm….who else? Some relatively fresh face, from outside the northeast, I should think.
Sherrod Brown perhaps. Not very far outside the Northeast... Tammy Duckworth? That would be wonderful, a veteran, a woman *and* a disabled person. Ahhh... A girl can dream.
Realistically, though, I really don't know who the new, bright up and comers are.
I'm inclined to think that Senator Warren is doing an awfully important job in the Senate.

I see Duckworth is running for Senator in 2016. I haven't heard her speak (I should take care of that--it's now easy enough), but she certainly has the bona fides.
Howard is first, even at the end.
ReplyDeleteI still like Carol Mosely Braun, but her time has come and gone.

Duckworth...yes.

Elizabeth Warren would make it a winning ticket.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth Warren would work for me too. But the rest of the country might not appreciate two New Englanders.
