Alleluia Lily

  1. Apparently another Presidential Campaign has begun. Sigh. I am not interested in the candidate of any particular party. I'm watching for a candidate who, instead of being partisan and polarising, and more than being bipartisan in view, is clearly transpartisan. I'm watching for someone who can care alike for rich and poor, young and old, and everyone in between, someone who sees the whole picture, and cares about this nation and the world at the same time. Let me know if you spot someone like that.

  3. Spent a most enjoyable evening watching "The Happiest Millionaire." I was familiar with the music and must have seen the movie at some time, but a long time ago. What a delightful movie! Lifts the spirits. That's what movies are supposed to do, and this one does the job splendidly.

  4. We actually had a slow, steady rain most of the day today (Tuesday). Yes, the Chicago results are a bit of a downer; I find Rahm Emmanuel frankly obnoxious.

I agree, listener, that there doesn't seem to be any candidate or prospective candidate for President in 2016 who really offers something to vote FOR; just saying the other candidate(s) is [are] worse doesn't float my boat any more. Allow me to suggest that it seems to make precious little difference if we vote for the lesser weevil or the greater weevil; if we keep voting for weevil, it's weevil we will get. There hasn't been a major party candidate for whom I truly wanted to vote since Walter Mondale, and that was a few years back. I won't say he was the last Democratic Party presidential candidate I wanted to vote for, because the possibility remains that they might still, some day, put forward another good one.

Hmmmm....I'm tired. Take that into consideration.

P.S.: "The Happiest Millionaire" noted and ordered from Netfilx; thanks. Cat. Also "Raise the Red Lantern."
