      Speaking of which: my granddaughter and her mom and dad spent the first part of last week in Florida, scoping out colleges, and just mom and grand the last part in southern California, doing same. If one wants to be a Marine Biologist, and she does, that's where your colleges are. . . .

      My niece went to UNH for marine biology, and it was a great program. As whales are her specialty, she has worked along both coasts.

    University of California Santa Cruz has, as I believe, a good marine biology program.

      I believe that was on the look/see list. It would be cool for her, as her other grandparents live in Woodland.
