I never turn away a critter in the dead of Winter, puddle. I might send one on it's way after it has chowed down awhile if its presence is keeping smaller creatures from having a fair turn. Thus the Starlings and Squirrels need to mind their manners. But they all go home well fed. We've been through about 40lbs of top notch mixed seed (Lyric brand Chickadee Mix), in just the past month.
